Dear Fellow LimmudNYks,

Ten years ago, I attended my first Limmud in Britain where I was blown away by the breadth and depth of Jewish learning and cultural offerings. A few years later, I was asked by UJA-Federation to chair a task force exploring the feasibility of creating a multi-day Jewish learning experience for the New York Jewish Community. We examined all of the Jewish learning options across North America and found that none rivaled the Limmud model. And so, Limmud NY was born – one of the first Limmuds outside of England.

Fast forward to 2010. Limmud has now spread to eight other North American cities and 54 communities around the world. Limmud NY has transformed the lives of thousands through its unique approach to Jewish learning and culture - fostering cross-communal and multi-generational interactions, leadership opportunities, professional partnerships, friendships, even conversions, marriages and more. The fact is that there is still no Jewish learning experience like Limmud – in New York or anywhere else.

I am proud to have served as the Founding President of Limmud NY for the past six years, and look forward to continuing my involvement in the organization for many years to come.
